We recently added a beehive to our farm daycare center, so we immediately expanded the topic of “bees” in the morning circle.
We discussed the rules for handling the bees. The most important thing is not to frighten the bees and to give them enough time to acclimatize. We learned the third verse of our finger play:
“The third bee collects pollen and puts it in the basket right by her leg. She scrapes the flowers, combs her fur. The baskets fill up quickly……”
We are all looking forward to the first “honey harvest”… It will be incredible to taste your own honey from your own bees!
